The Kenya Adventure 2017 – Hayfa’s Thoughts

To be entrusted with the stories, dreams and aspirations of the children and young people both at Sure 24 and Tumaini is a gift that I am so grateful for. They all had something unique and special about them, with big dreams and big hearts to match. Despite all being limited in some way they all manage to dream big and find the hope in any situation and that is one of the many things I learned from the many conversations and time spent in Kenya. I made friendships that will last a lifetime and came back with the understanding that if we all had an ounce of the same hope, compassion and outlook of life, it would be steps in the right direction. I saw the direct impact the work Regenerate do along with the Feel Good Bakery and am now passionate in doing my bit to ensure that still happens.

I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with all the people who came on the trip and those we met in Kenya and cannot wait to go back and pick up where we left off.
