Sports have played a major role in my life, shaping me into who I am today. As well as granting me career opportunities, it has instilled in me key values, allowed me to make life-long friends and incredible memories. This picture captures another impactful moment where sports have influenced my life. It is a still of the ‘Sports Day’ event I have had the privilege of organising for the last three years for some 300 kids who reside in the Sure24 Orphanage. While I am aware that knowledge is a powerful tool, I firmly believe investing in young people’s play can positively impact their childhood. Each year that I have planned this ‘sports day’ event, I try to remember the carefree laughter that I was afforded when I was young. I try to bring the same energy to the event to allow these kids to make similar memories that I did when I was young.
