In May we had our annual camping trip in Gloucester with a group of young people from the Get Active programme.
Some had never camped before so it was an exciting experience and the threw themselves into it 100%. They made the camp, cooked food on the BBQ, overcame fears of creepy crawly’s, took part in water sports and had a fat load of fun!
Marni said “Camping made me learn new skills by putting up the tents and I liked sleeping in a different place and environment.“
One day we joined the Paddles and Saddles Kayak trip on the start of their epic fundraising journey Kayaking the Thames from the source to the sea. They young people kayaked for 5 hours straight! This was a challenge – but they did it! They were so proud of themselves as it was super hard work and they had to dig deep.
Jayden said “I was so glad we did it, I learnt how to be in a double kayak and help people out on the river when they found it hard work.”
